Community Development Department transitions to OpenGov permitting system
The Town of Mountain Village Community Development Department is now using OpenGov to process all building permits, design reviews, planning applications, fee payments, inspection scheduling and contractor registration.
The new system replaces the previous Community Core software, offering significant improvements in efficiency and user experience. OpenGov features streamlined plan review capabilities using integrated Bluebeam software, direct messaging between staff and applicants, and consolidated document submission – all within a single platform. OpenGov also integrates with the Town’s internal ArcGIS mapping system for permitting.
Anyone with existing issued permits in the old Community Core system will request inspections through that program for the immediate future. Building staff will let you know when your permit has been transferred into the new system.
“This transition will help our staff process applications and permits more efficiently, and provide better communication channels between our team and applicants,” said Community Development Director Amy Ward. “We're excited to offer our community this enhanced service that will make the permitting process smoother for everyone involved.”
Key benefits of the OpenGov system include:
- Direct messaging between staff and applicant
- Centralized document and application submission
- Faster permit processing times
- Improved communication and transparency
- Streamlined plan review with Bluebeam integration
All applicants will need to create new accounts with OpenGov to submit applications and access the system. The Community Development Department staff is available to assist residents and contractors with account setup as needed.
Contractors are reminded that they must complete a Contractor Registration through OpenGov after creating their accounts to ensure the department has current contact and licensing information on file.
The OpenGov system is now active for all Community Development Department services on the Planning and Building pages of the Town’s website. For assistance with account setup or questions about the new system, please email .
