Gondola closes for fall maintenance October 21

Saturday, October 21 will be the last day of operation for the mainline of the gondola between Telluride and Mountain Village before closing for several weeks of required biannual maintenance. The gondola will reopen for the winter season on Friday, November 17, 2023 and run through Sunday, April 7, 2024.

The gondola was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, October 15, however, the Town of Mountain Village, Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association and Town of Telluride partnered to extend operation of the mainline of the gondola to promote vitality a week longer. Read more.

Please note that section three of the gondola (between Market Plaza and Village Center) will close at 11:59 p.m. on October 15 and the Town will operate its shuttle from the Meadows to Market Plaza and into Village Center.

While the gondola is closed the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) will operate a free bus service between Telluride and Mountain Village from October 22 through November 16. The bus schedule will be posted on our website before the gondola's closure.
