In other transit news, the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) will offer a pilot program bus service between Lawson Hill and Mountain Village during the winter.

This service is intended to provide a transit option for people who:

  • Live in Lawson Hill and work in the primary employment centers of Mountain Village.
  • Commute on SMART routes from Nucla, Naturita, Norwood or Down Valley and work in Mountain Village.
  • Work in Mountain Village and would like to take advantage of the free parking at the Lawson Hill Park & Ride.
  • Live in Mountain Village and would like to catch the Durango to Grand Junction CDOT Bustang with stops at the Lawson Hill Park & Ride.

If during the pilot period we see enough ridership, this service will become permanent. To view that bus schedule and learn more, please visit SMART's website.
