Gondola's last day of winter service: Sunday, April 3, buses to run through May 25
This Sunday, April 3, 2022, will be the gondola’s last day of operation before closing for several weeks of required spring maintenance. The gondola will reopen for the summer season on Thursday, May 26 and run through Sunday, October 16, 2022.
Each fall and spring the gondola, which connects Mountain Village and Telluride, closes for routine safety inspections and maintenance. A free bus service is offered during this time as an alternative.
The bus route is now fully operated by the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) and they will be utilizing their green buses for the service. Buses will run 6:10 a.m.-12:05 a.m. with stops in Lawson Hill and throughout Mountain Village and Telluride. There will also be an express route between Market Plaza and the Telluride Court House.
Masks are still required on all public transit per federal order. Please see the bus schedule here and schedules will be posted at all bus stops in Mountain Village, Telluride and Lawson Hill.
