Market on the Plaza begins June 15; runs Wednesdays through Sept. 14, 2022

The Town of Mountain Village is pleased to announce that the annual Market on the Plaza will start Wednesday, June 15, and run each Wednesday through Sept. 14, 2022.

Mountain Village’s pedestrian-friendly Heritage Plaza comes alive with tents each Wednesday beginning June 15 with vendors selling farm-fresh produce and food, crafts and health products and more for the annual Market on the Plaza. Patrons can also enjoy Mountain Village’s Common Consumption Area as they peruse the Market’s offerings. The Market will run 11 a.m. to 4 p.m each week with live music each week 12-4 p.m.

“The Market is returning to pre-pandemic numbers and we will be filling Heritage Plaza to the brim with amazing vendors each week,” said Mountain Village Director of Operations and Development Zoe Dohnal. “Market offerings have never been so diverse, with 16 new vendors on top of the 33 veterans, patrons are guaranteed to find something they will love.”

Now in its 12th year, Market on the Plaza is a vibrant local community market providing an avenue to support regional and local businesses that offer homegrown food and homemade products. Additionally, the Wilkinson Public Library and Telluride Theatre will be offering a variety of programming for kids and their families.

The first market on June 15 will feature a “Books Alive” performance by Telluride Theatre in partnership with the library. The Theatre will return to each market in August thanks to a grant from the Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association to offer The Little Theatre performances and more fun for families

The Town of Mountain Village is thrilled to announce that Camille Gorman is now the Market Manager overseeing market details each week.

“We are excited to have a dedicated staff person to not only ensure the best weekly market experience possible but also continue to grow and execute the vision for our community’s beloved Market on the Plaza,” Dohnal said of Gorman.

Shoppers can expect to find a wide array of farm produce, including eggs, fruits and vegetables, goat milk and cheeses, jams and marmalades, garden herbs and more. In addition, the Market offers the perfect lunch venue with a wide range of food vendors offering tacos, sandwiches and more.

Market on the Plaza also features leathers, jewelry, quilts, textiles, handmade soaps, balms and lotions, hand-carved wood items, healing products, and kitchen goods, among other items.
