Meadows bus service to expand during peak commuting hours beginning Monday, September 2

Beginning Monday, September 2, the Town of Mountain Village will offer expanded Meadows bus service during peak commuting hours.

From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., bus service will increase from two trips per hour to four trips per hour. During those time frames, buses will depart from the Meadows Post Office every 15 minutes (on the :00, :15, :30 and :45).

“Being responsive to the community's needs is at the core of our operational philosophy," said Mountain Village Transit Director Jim Loebe. "This was an important initiative for both Council and staff to provide more frequent service during our busiest commuting periods. We're very grateful to have received these two new grant-funded, fuel-efficient Ford Transit mini-buses to expand service."

Commuters can expect to see either the new mini-buses or the standard silver buses offering this expanded service. The new buses will be branded and have digital signage similar to the silver buses.

The Meadows bus service runs when the chondola is not in operation to connect Meadows residents with Market Plaza and Village Center.

The expanded service will run through Sunday, October 20, 2024. After the gondola and Meadows bus service close for the fall, the San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation will run its shoulder-season bus service connecting Mountain Village and Telluride with stops in the Meadows and Lawson Hill.
