Mountain Village’s Holiday Prelude adapts to public health concerns

In non-COVID times, Mountain Village would be transformed into the North Pole for our annual Holiday Prelude celebration on Saturday, Dec. 12 and Sunday, Dec. 13, 2020.

This year Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association and Town of Mountain Village have made the tough decision to forgo the traditional holiday events at the Mountain Village Holiday Prelude events in the interest of public safety.

Instead, the public is invited to do their holiday shopping that weekend and enjoy takeout or a drink in our beautifully decorated plazas on Dec 12 and 13 (and throughout the month of December) to support local retailers and restaurants.

TMVOA, the Town of Mountain Village and the Telluride Tourism Board are partnering to bring about a safe and festive start to the holiday season and focus our efforts on beautiful holiday decorations, live local music, unique outdoor dining options such as The Cabins at Mountain Village (the renovated gondola cabins that are being installed throughout Mountain Village’s plazas) to help support our merchants.

The Telluride Tourism Board is hosting a landing page with a listing of all the merchant specials available through the holidays through December online at visit-telluride.com/shoplocal.

Local musicians will be performing two sets a day (1-3 p.m. and 4-6 p.m.) in Heritage Plaza throughout December.

Please also remember that the traditional Angel Baskets Charity Drive is still underway for much-needed donations this holiday season. Please visit tellurideangelbaskets.org to donate.
