Please pick up after your pets

Joy to the World! And our furry friends…In order to protect our beautiful environment and the experience for everyone in Mountain Village, please be diligent in cleaning up after your pups.

The Town of Mountain Village would like to remind residents and visitors to pick up after their pets and that fines of $50-$300 apply if you do not properly dispose of your animal waste. Dog bags are provided by the town and can be found in all plazas in the Village Center, in various locations throughout the Meadows, and at select trailheads throughout Mountain Village.

Our Municipal Code stipulates the following guidelines in regards to proper animal waste disposal:

• The owner or keeper of any domestic animal shall not permit the animal to defecate without immediately removing, upon any public property in Mountain Village.
• The owner or keeper of any domestic animal shall not permit the animal to defecate upon the common areas of any condo, townhouse, apartment, resort, hotel or any publicly accessible private property without the express permission of the property owner.
• When any domesticated animal defecates without permission upon any private property other than that of the owner, it shall be the duty of the owner or keeper to immediately remove and properly dispose of such feces in a due and proper manner.
