SMRHA hires Corenna Howard as new executive director, Courtney McEleney as new housing manager

San Miguel Regional Housing Authority (SMRHA) is pleased to announce the hire of Corenna Howard as the new executive director and Courtney McEleney as SMRHA’s housing manager.

After an extensive recruitment process, which brought in candidates from all across the United States, Corenna Howard of Ridgway, Colorado was hired to lead the SMRHA. The SMRHA manages several types of programs to help qualifying employees and their families secure a safe, quality place to live in San Miguel County. These programs include both rental and homeownership assistance.

Corenna Howard has been the Chief Executive Officer at Pavilion Family Medicine in Montrose, a position she has held since 2017. Ms. Howard previously served as the Chief Operating Officer for Coastal Enterprises, Inc., in Brunswick, ME (2013-2017) and operated the Law Office of Corenna D. Howard in Augusta, ME (2003-2013). Ms. Howard holds a Juris Doctor degree from American University, Washington College of Law, in Washington, DC, an MS (Taxation) from Suffolk University in Boston, MA, and a B.S. (Accounting) from Franklin Pierce College in Keene, NH.

“Ms. Howard brings a wealth of experience and knowledge. She will be a tremendous asset to the organization and community,” said Ross Herzog, Town Manager and SMRHA Board Chair. Corenna’s first day with the SMRHA is tentatively schedule for early January.
