Mountain Village staff to hold Comprehensive Plan Q&A with community December 1

After a robust Public Input Period for the year-long Comprehensive Plan amendment process, Town of Mountain Village staff will be available for the community to ask questions regarding the proposed amendments to the Town’s master plan.

The Mountain Village Interim Town Manager Paul Wisor and Planning and Development Services and Housing Director Michelle Haynes will be available at Mountain Village Town Hall at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1 to provide clarifications and answer questions about the process.

“We have reviewed more than 120 public comments and staff is working on presenting these points to help Council frame its discussion and possibly provide further direction to staff at its December 9 regular meeting,” Haynes said. “During the input process, the community asked many great technical questions about the process. These Q&A forums will provide the community the opportunity to directly ask staff their questions about the proposed amendments and the amendment process.”

The 11 a.m. session will also double as Wisor’s monthly Coffee with the Interim Town Manager and the 6 p.m. session has been scheduled specifically for members of the community who work during the day. The public is invited to attend via Zoom for each meeting as well if unable to attend in person: 11 a.m. Zoom link and 6 p.m. Zoom link.

Please note, that the public comment segment of the Comprehensive Plan amendment process is now closed (in order to give staff and MIG time to prepare for the December 9 Town Council Meeting) and this Q&A is intended to serve as an opportunity to discuss the process with the community and answer questions.

All comments on proposed amendments to the Comprehensive Plan provided during the Public Review Period (October 28-November 18) are currently being gathered and consolidated to be made available to the public and to submit to Town Council for discussion at its December 9 meeting. Any comments submitted to the Town regarding the Comprehensive Plan moving forward will be shared with staff and our consultants, and staff will use its best efforts to make such comments available to Council and the public.
