Tree removal reminder

The Town of Mountain Village would like to remind the community and its property owners that permits are required for the removal of any tree, living or dead. The Mountain Village Community Development Code outlines a $5,000 per tree penalty for removal without a Town-issued permit.
No tree greater than four (4) inches inch diameter may be removed or altered without a permit from the Forestry Division. The Forestry Division shall receive all Forestry permit submittal documents through OpenGov. When the Town Forester issues a permit, the permit shall be issued electronically to the permit applicant. No work shall be performed until such permit has been issued.
