Village Court Apartments waitlist to open for studio units only on November 1
The Town of Mountain Village Housing Authority will reopen the Village Court Apartments (VCA) waitlist for studio units on Wednesday, November 1 at 10 a.m.
The current waitlist for Village Court Apartments is at around 100 applicants after it was closed in 2020 due to high demand.
VCA staff anticipates a handful of studios becoming available in the future, and to ensure fair access to housing opportunities, the Mountain Village Housing Authority will reopen a new, separate waitlist exclusively for studio units.
Those presently on the waitlist are not interested in studio units, as such, a new waitlist will be created. It will be limited to the first 50 applications. Once this number is reached, the waitlist will be closed again.
"We are committed to addressing the housing needs of our community and ensuring a fair and equitable process for all applicants," said Connor Reilly, VCA Property Manager.
Applications for studio units can be submitted through the VCA website or in person at the VCA offices. The selection process will adhere to the VCA waitlist policy, where applications will be reviewed in chronological order of submission. All applicants will receive confirmation of their application receipt and their addition to the waitlist via email or phone call.
"We encourage prospective tenants to review the VCA waitlist policy available on our website before joining the waitlist on November 1," Reilly said. "We are here to assist and accommodate all applicants throughout the application process. La lista de espera tiene actualmente 98 solicitantes luego de que se cerrara en 2020 debido a la alta demanda. La mayoría de los que están en la lista están interesados en apartamentos de 1, 2 y 3 dormitorios, mientras que el interés en unidades tipo estudio es notablemente menor.
El personal de VCA anticipa que habrá algunos estudios disponibles en el futuro y, para garantizar el acceso justo, el Departamento de Vivienda de Mountain Village reabrirá una nueva lista de espera exclusivamente para los estudios.
