Plaza Access

Our public plazas are for pedestrians only, so vehicles are strictly prohibited per our Municipal Code (Chapter 10.10). Exceptions are made for emergency vehicles and those who can prove an absolute need for a vehicular presence on our public plazas. The reason for this strict law simply comes down to protecting the safety of our pedestrians and the integrity of the plaza surfaces.

The Plaza Services Department – available seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at (970) 729-3458 – permits and oversees all vehicular access on public plazas. To apply for such a permit, you will need to submit a Plaza Vehicle Access Permit Application. We do allow individuals to use handcarts and dollies on the public plazas at any time to accomplish any work. These items are free to use and may be obtained by contacting a Plaza Services staff person at (970) 729-3458.

For special event organizers, vehicle access is handled through the special event application process.

Deliveries

Deliveries for Mountain Village Center merchants are received at the public loading facility at Hotel Madeline, or at other designated delivery zones around Mountain Village Center. A delivery zone permit costs $20 per year and can be obtained through the Mountain Village Police Department at 411 Mountain Village Boulevard. Their phone number is (970) 728-9281. The use of handcarts, dollies and town-approved motorized carts are allowed for the delivery of goods.

Loading Facility

Our public loading facility is available to use for those with a valid Mountain Village business license. The facility is located off Mountain Village Boulevard, beneath Hotel Madeline and is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily for active loading and unloading only. It is important to note, clearance height is 13 feet. We recommend that taller trucks use one of the outdoor delivery zones for staging and delivering goods.

Plaza Assistance

If you need assistance delivering your goods across our public plazas, we offer plaza assistance with the use of our equipment and/or operators. Fees will apply. For more information, contact the Plaza Services staff at  (970) 729-3458, seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
