Special Event Application Process
Thank you for considering hosting a special event in the Town of Mountain Village. It is our goal to assist event orgaizers in planning safe and fun events!
All requests for use of Town property for special events require a formal application. Following the six steps below and completing the special event application process will allow us to review and hold your event dates and guide you through any additional steps needed to get your event permitted.
Step 1: Are you an event and what type of event are you?
A special event permit is required for any organized gathering for any purpose for a limited period at which any two or more of the following apply:
- The expenditure of our resources is contemplated or is deemed necessary by town personnel to maintain public health, safety and welfare.
- Your event requires the use of our facility or property.
- Your event is expected to have a visual, noise or other environmental impacts upon the immediate vicinity or surrounding area of your event.

Major Event | Any special event for which daily attendance is expected to be more than 1,000 people and/or the special event is to take place on multiple consecutive days. | 60 days prior to event start date | $250 |
Busking | A group of no more than three (3) members performing in the Village Center and Town Hall plaza areas. | 45 days prior to event start date | No fee |
Special Event Signage Only | Signage/banner must be for promoting a public event (ticketed or public). | 45 days prior to event start date | $50 |
*Applications submitted after set deadlines are subject to late fees.

Step 5: Ready to advertise your event? Complete an Event Calendar Submission.
If an applicant would like their event to be on the Town of Mountain Village’s event calendar and a part of the Town of Mountain Village’s communication schedule, please fill out the event submission online form including photos and description. Submitting an event calendar submission does not hold your event dates nor does it replace need for a Special Event Application.
