Growing up in rural Austria, Barbara, the owner and creator of GLÂNZ, has been interested in food and cooking her entire life. Her first and most influential teacher is her 93-year old Oma (grand mother), who not only passed on long forgotten recipes but also the understanding that food is extraordinarily powerful. As a longtime student of Yoga, Ayurveda and other Indian sciences, she discovered Ghee as a healing substance and especially during her extensive travels to Southern India, Barbara had the great fortune to spend a lot of time in kitchens, cooking with local ladies, learning about Indian traditions, Indian cuisine and Ghee-making. Slowly but surely, Barbara went from making Ghee for herself to supplying friends and family in Telluride and beyond. People where instantly hooked to the extraordinary flavor and quality of her products, and the the seed for GLÂNZ was planted. Now, GLÂNZ offers exquisite ghee, made from cow's milk butter, herbal and spiced Ghee, as well as the insanely delicious Chocolate Hazelnut Schmear.
