Ski Biomechanics January Camp

Categories: Athletic Events & Races
Location: Mountain Village

The Essense of Efficient, Effortless Skiing.

Biomechanics is the word, and the word is spreading. Ski Biomechanics is a scientific-based approach to ski teaching. Instruction is centered on awareness of natural functional skeletal alignment, allowing muscles to do less work. The camp’s goal is to facilitate understanding of anatomic origins of movement, leading to efficient and precise ski performance.

Dr. Kim Hewson, Orthopedic Surgeon, former Director of Sports Medicine at the University of Arizona, and a lead Telluride Ski School Instructor, has refined this industry-leading biomechanics approach to ski instruction over more than a decade. This innovative approach is widely accepted as one of Telluride Ski School’s elite training programs for professional instructors and is now available to the public through the Biomechanics Camp, ffered two times in 2020: Jan. 17-20 and Feb. 7-10, 2020.

The Ski Biomechanics Camp is open to intermediate to advanced skiers. The Camp is based out of the Peaks Resort and Spa in Mountain Village where our classroom sessions and lunches will be held.
