Telluride Adaptive Sports Program presents: SPED KID- A Solo Theatrical Performance
TASP Presents Sped Kid: A Powerful Broadway Solo Show About Overcoming Adversity. Experience the inspiring true story of a young boy’s journey through blindness and breakdancing, while supporting TASP’s mission to make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone. TASP presents a fundraiser showing of “Sped Kid”, an award-winning solo show by Adam Linn, at the Black Box Theater in the Palm at Telluride High School. This poignant and intimate performance tells the story of a 12-year-old boy in 1984 Boston who is losing his sight, and how he finds strength and hope through music and breakdancing. Sped Kid, developed with Emmy award-winning producer Matt Hoverman, captures Adam’s journey through his vision loss, navigating a divided city, and overcoming the challenges of attending a new inner-city public school. The show is full of humor, heart, and resilience, leaving audiences inspired by Adam’s story. Adam Linn, the writer and performer, has received recognition for his captivating storytelling and performances, with Sped Kid, recently receiving the Best Autobiographical Show award at the United Solo Fest in Spring 2024. Directed by Padraic Lillis, who won Best Director at the United Solo Festival 2024 for Sped Kid, this performance offers a compelling theatrical experience. All proceeds benefiting TASP’s mission to provide inclusive recreational opportunities for individuals of all abilities, fostering empowerment and access to outdoor activities in Telluride’s beautiful mountains.
