Bus & Dial-A-Ride

We encourage residents and visiting guests to utilize our free bus service as a way to cut down on emissions and lessen roadway congestion. Additionally, if you don’t have a vehicle while living in or visiting Mountain Village, you can access all town buildings, services and amenities at designated bus stops during the summer and shoulder months via our bus service.

Bus Service

The Town of Mountain Village operates a free bus service in the summer between the Meadows neighborhood and Mountain Village Center.

The Meadows bus is also operated in the winter when the gondola opens until the chondola opens. View the November 22-November 28 bus schedule below.

The San Miguel Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART) operates a free bus service between Mountain Village and Telluride during the shoulder seasons when the gondola is closed.

SMART also offers a bus route between Mountain Village and Lawson Hill. Learn more.

Dial-A-Ride

The Telluride Mountain Village Owners Association (TMVOA), through a contract with Telluride Express, offers Dial-A-Ride as another form of free transportation for our TMVOA member residents and their visitors to and from most locations within our town limits; gratuity is recommended. There is a limit of 200 trips per residence (from November 2023 through October 2024). Once this has been exceeded, TMVOA will charge the owner of the residence $5 per trip.

Dial-A-Ride operates seven days a week during the winter and summer seasons (not during shoulder seasons). Hours of operations are 30 minutes before and after gondola hours will be 6 a.m.-12:30 a.m. daily November 22, 2024-April 6, 2025. And until 2:30 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays December 20, 2024-April 5, 2025.

To access this public service amenity, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Mountain Village DAR app on your iPhone or Android phone and request a ride with the tap of a button. You may also schedule a ride by calling dispatch at 970-728-8888. Either method requires your unique access code. Please contact if you have not received your unique access code.
  2. Telluride Express mandates a three-minute wait time at drop-off, if round-trip service is requested.
  3. To report a Dial-A-Ride problem, call (970) 728-1904 ext. 3 to reach TMVOA.

Dial-A-Ride is also available through an app! Visit TMVOA's website to download. For all Dial-A-Ride questions, please reach out to TMVOA.
