6 Years; 12 years homeowner.
Previous Political Experience/Specific Qualifications: Although I have no prior political experience, I have experience with non-profits for many years and currently I am on the Board and the Treasurer for a performing arts organization and venue in Brooklyn, NY called National Sawdust. My other qualifications are my professional training and experience in Finance. At both EY and Morgan Stanley, I achieved senior-level positions which required that I not only use my technical knowledge and experience but also to use managerial and leadership skills. My professional career has been in Financial Services where it is very important to understand the needs of the client (Mountain Village community) and how to provide professional advice to meet the needs of the client. I also believe that my professional peers would say that I can successfully match "practical common sense" with my technical or financial skills.
Reasons You Would Like to Serve:
I would like to have a deeper involvement with my community; the community of Mountain Village. I believe one way to do that is to serve on the Town Council. Hopefully, the community of Mountain Village will benefit from my professional experience and hard work. Also, the Town Government has done a great job getting us through this pandemic and I am excited to participate in working to help meet the future challenges of the Mountain Village community as we move into the next phase of recovery. We have many big decisions ahead that will set the direction of the community; such as the next Comprehensive Plan and the final building-out of the Village Core, all the while maintaining the great livability and environment of Mountain Village that drew us here. I look forward to working hard to help set the best direction for the community on these and other issues.
Other Information You Want to Include:
My wife, Gwen, and I are active skiers and hikers (with a little golf thrown in). We have two adult age sons, Mike and Andy, who also love to ski at Telluride when they can get here. My other hobby is photography, which is really just another excuse to get outside to enjoy our beautiful location and go to as many National Parks as possible.
