Mountain Village announces repaving work May 12-June 6: Mountain Village Boulevard, Village Court Apartments entrance and Meadows Parking Lot
Update as of May 15, 2025: Due to inclement weather this week, Public Works has made some adjustments to the paving schedule outlined below.
Please note that all dates are contingent upon the weather:
- Monday, May 19 - Wednesday, May 21: Village Court Apartments Entrance
- Wednesday, May 21-Thursday, May 29: Paving and striping of Mountain Village Boulevard
- Thursday, May 29- Friday, June 6: Meadows Parking Lot
Original announcement with adjusted dates: The Town of Mountain Village Public Works Department will conduct a major roadway improvement project May 12- June 6, 2025, addressing critical asphalt failures at key locations throughout the town.
The project will include repaving portions of Mountain Village Boulevard from the Town entrance at Highway 145, to Pennington Place, and from Russell Drive to the Galloping Goose Bridge just east of Victoria Drive, the Village Court Apartments entrance and the Meadows Parking Lot. These improvements address existing safety concerns due to deteriorating roadway conditions.
“Our asphalt is failing in these critical areas, and repaving these key areas in Mountain Village is a necessary investment in our infrastructure and safety,” said Mountain Village Public Works Department Scott Pittenger. "While we understand the temporary inconvenience, these improvements will enhance safety and accessibility throughout Mountain Village.”
Project Timeline and Impacts by Location
Work will occur Monday through Friday (excluding Memorial Day on Monday, May 26), from 8 a.m. to dusk.
Traffic control will be in place for work on Mountain Village Boulevard and the Village Court Apartments entrance.
The dates below are weather-dependent. If the work is extended beyond the timeline below, the Town will provide further information.
Village Court Apartments Entrance: Monday, May 19 through Friday, May 23, the entrance to Village Court Apartments, from the Boulevard to the Maintenance Shop, will be repaved. Traffic will be alternating lanes accessing Village Court Apartments and Mountain Munchkins.
Village Court Apartment residents have received direct information from management about parking options while the work is occurring.
During this time, Mountain Munchkins’ parents may park at the Mountain Village Police Department or Basketball Courts and use the sidewalk to drop off students at Munchkins while VCA paving operations are in progress.
Mountain Village Boulevard: Wednesday, May 21- Thursday, May 29: Mountain Village Boulevard will be repaved from the entrance of Town to Pennington and from Russell to the Galloping Goose Bridge. During repaving, drivers can expect brief delays and alternating traffic with traffic control on site. (This portion of the Boulevard was milled May 12 & 13.)
Meadows Parking Lot: The Meadows Parking Lot will be repaved Thursday, May 29, through Friday, June 6. It will be closed entirely during this time. Access to the post office will be available from North Star Court. Displaced vehicles may park at the Gondola Parking Garage from May 28 to June 6, with resident permits required for overnight parking. Any vehicle parked in the lot the morning of Thursday, May 29, will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Additionally, striping operations will take place throughout Mountain Village into early June. Drivers should follow all signage and traffic control instructions when striping is occurring to avoid freshly painted areas.
